Block: How To - Add or Edit an Image Block
Images are one of the main features of any website, from photos of products, to family photos, to business logos - it’s all about your image. Consumers are more likely to be interested in a business with a professional logo, and high-quality images of their products and services featured on their sites. A picture says a thousand words, so let’s get started with illustrating your site!
Hot Tip! Don’t have any images added to your media library yet? See our How-To guide on adding media before you proceed with this tutorial.
To add an image block to your website, first open up your site editor.
Once there, select the Blocks menu option from the grey site editor menu tray at the top of the page.
Select the “Image” option from the blocks menu, and drag and drop the image block onto your page anywhere you see a light gray dashed-line box on page. When you have arrived at a valid location for your image block, you should see a green line across the top of the blank space indicating you have the green light to drop your block there.
While hovering over your newly added image block, click on the pencil icon that appears in the upper left corner to edit the image that is displayed.
This will bring you to your current media library. Here, you may select an image that you’ve already uploaded to your media library. Just click once to choose the image you want to use, and it will show up larger in the preview box to the left of your library. You may add an "Alt Tag" to the image, which is text that shows when someone hovers their mouse of the image on your site. Once you are happy with the image you've selected, click the green Save button in the lower right hand corner.
You will now see your lovely new image in all it's glory on your site!
Need to move your image block elsewhere on the page? Simply hover over the image, then click and hold the four way directional arrow icon that appears at the top center. Drag the image block anywhere else you wish on the page.
Need to delete an image block? Hover over the image block you wish to delete from your page, and click on the trash can icon that appears at the upper right.
