Blocks: How To - Add or Edit a Contact Form Block
A “Contact Us” page is essential for most businesses, and is handy on personal websites as well. A great addition to a “Contact Us” page is a streamlined “Contact Form.” Contact forms provide your customers or site visitors a way to get in touch with you, without you having to post your personal or business email address publicly for all to see. This helps ensure you don’t receive SPAM mail, and it also gives your site guests a convenient and easy way to get in touch without ever having to leave your site! An added bonus? Contact Forms add to the overall professional look and feel of a site. Many customers feel much more comfortable doing business with a company that has a contact form on their site, versus just an email address.
To add a simple contact form to your site, first open up your site editor.
Once there, select the Blocks menu option from the grey site editor menu tray at the top of the page.
Select the “Contact Form” option from the blocks menu, and drag and drop the contact form block onto your page anywhere you see a light gray dashed-line box on page. When you have arrived at a valid location for your contact form block, you should see a green line across the top of the blank space indicating you have the green light to drop your block there.
Our basic contact form asks for a Name, Email Address, Message from users. We do not currently offer the option to customize these contact form fields.
While hovering over your newly added contact form block, click on the pencil icon that appears in the upper left corner to edit the title of your form, as well as the email address where you would like to receive messages from your site visitors.
The title of your form can stay as the default "Contact Form" or you may wish to have it say something like "Drop us a line!" or "We're happy to hear from you!"
Hot Tip! Remember, the email address you enter on your contact form is private, and will not be displayed to your site visitors. The email address does not have to match the one you used to sign up for your AresBuilder account.
Once you're happy with your contact form settings, click the green Save button on the lower right corner.
Anytime a visitor to your site submits this contact form, you will receive a notification in your email inbox to alert you to the new message.
