Blocks: How To - Add or Edit a Rich Text Block
The rich text block is where you enter the main text and information of your site. It is also where you can insert links, or add HTML, including but not limited to Affiliate Codes and banners. Use a text block to explain to site visitors what your site is all about, describe your business, or post your resume! Text blocks are the main entrée of the three course meal that is your website!
To add a text block to your site, first open the Site Editor, and choose the page you wish to add text to from your site menu. Once on your desired page, click on the “Blocks” option in the upper grey site editor tray, and then select the "Rich Text" option within the blocks menu.
Drag and drop the rich text block onto your page anywhere that you see a light dotted line box. You will see a green line appear when you have pulled the text block to a valid location.
Now that you've got a Rich Text Block on your site, you're ready to edit it in order to add your own custom content. Click on the pencil icon on the upper left side of your newly added text block. This will open the Rich Text Block editor.
In the Text Block editor, you can type and format your own custom content. It's as easy as composing and formatting an email! Use the button menu at the top of the text box editor to format your text.
The formatting options available to you are as follows, in order from left to right:
Switch to HTML mode – This allows you to add custom HTML content, such as affiliate codes. When this is selected, the text will flip to white on a black background to differentiate from editing text, and editing in HTML. Click the </> button again to switch back to regular text editing mode.
Hot Tip! You can add a map of your business area by going to http://maps.google.com and typing in your business address. Once you've searched for this address, click the link button just to the right of the button with the printer icon. Then highlight and copy the text under where it says "Paste HTML to embed in website.” You can paste this code into the HTML editor section of your text block and apply the changes to create a map on your website.
Choose your general text format – We only offer the most basic and professional-looking fonts for use on your site – ones that will get your site noticed in the best ways!

You can see a brief description of what each of the editor icons do by hovering your cursor over the icons in turn.
